Savage Jungle: Lair of the Orang Pendek
I have yet to read a book by Hunter Shea that I do not like. There are definitely very few authors I like who are in that category. I have always loved the idea of living creatures unknown to science so "Savage Jungle: Lair of the Orang Pendek" was right up my alley. Natalie and Austin McQueen are just getting over their adventurous trip to Scotland to find the Loch Ness Monster when they are asked to help Henrik Kooper find and destroy the creatures who killed his father right in front of his eyes. They agree to help him because he assisted them with the creatures in Scotland so they are off to Sumatra to face more creatures that scientists do not believe exist. I love how Hunter Shea sets the scene in his books. I felt as if I were in the jungle along with Natalie, Austin, Henrik. He describes the oppressive heat, and almost claustrophobic atmosphere so well. I have not read the first book in this series, "Loch Ness Revenge" but that is the amazing thing about Hunter Shea. His books can be read as stand alone novels as well. Highly recommended!
